You might’ve heard that we made a big announcement yesterday: Wistia now supports podcasts!
In addition to podcasting, there are some other improvements and changes coming to your Channels experience, and we want to let you know what to expect.
For any new Channel that you create, you’ll notice that we’ve:
Updated the design of the Channel management pages.
Created a brand new Channel stats dashboard.
Simplified sharing and permissions.
And we’ve added a rich-text editor for media descriptions.
We’ve also created a new role for sharing and permissions called Contributors. When you create a new Channel, any user you invite to it will be a Contributor by default. This means they can view and edit content. You’ll also notice that A/B testing is now only available on Projects.
Keep in mind that these changes won’t impact any of your existing Channels, only your new ones. And later this year, we’ll begin the process of migrating all existing Channels to the updated version. But, don’t worry. We’ll be sure to keep you in-the-loop on timing and progress.
While podcasting has made the biggest splash, we think the updates to Channels management flow, simplification of permissions and sharing, and enhanced Channel stats dashboard will be a big improvement for how you collaborate, manage, and share your audio and video content.
